My dog has stage III lymphoma, how do I know if she is in pain?
My dog is almost 8 and has swollen nodes all over her body, throat, neck, shoulders, groin, back legs.. and some are the size of between golf balls and tennis balls.. She Snores and is very very congested and you can hear her breathing. She is on prednisone and something for anxiety as she paces the floor continually if she does not take it to relax. The vet says she is not in pain… but come one she has cancer all over her body… How can she not be in pain.. he won’t be us any pain meds for her besides the prednisone. She looks at me so happy, but you can see the distraught look in her eyes..
The vet also has not done any blood testing to see if it has traveled to any organs or bone, he says that these tests are just a waste of money… but she is my baby I should get a say in that.
I’d take her to another vet for a second opinion. That pacing she does could be one sign of pain. The look in her eyes would be another. I don’t know if she’s in pain or not, but what I do know is that if this were my dog, she’d be seeing a more caring vet.
